Teaching purposes
Pre-reading activities
Watch a video clip.
Talk about what they think will happen in the future. To arouse students' interest and activate their background knowledge.
Talk about the time box.
To predict and lead in the topic. While-reading activities
Skim the dialogue and find out why Mr. Hu wants his students to make a time box.
Read the dialogue again and find out some detailed information about the time box. Summarize what a time box is.
To lead students to understand what a time box is through skimming, scanning and summarizing.
Skim the sentences on picture 2 and 3 and find out the main idea.
