Learning Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to
1. express thoughts by saying “I think…will possibly be a/an….” 2. use formulaic expressions to show agreement/ disagreement. e.g. Yes, I agree./ No, I don’t agree.
3. describe people’s future by using simple future tense. Learning emphasis:
1. Expressing thoughts and agreement/ disagreement.
2. Talking about people’s future by using simple future tense. Learning difficulties:
Using simple future tense to describe people’s future.
Teaching procedure: Pre-reading:
1. Recognize the teachers by doing a guessing game. 2. Describe people by looking at the pictures.
3. Have a free talk about their advantages and possible jobs. While-reading:
1. Guess Peter’s possible job through a table. 2. Listen and say about Peter’s future. 3. Read the text about Peter’s future. 4. Read Jill’s future and fill in the table.
5. Talk about Jill’s future according to the table. 6. Read the text by following the tape. Post- reading:
1. Brainstorm more jobs and other adjectives about describing appearance. 2. Finish a table about their future and talk with their deskmates. 3. Talk about their classmates’ future in groups. Homework:
1. Recite the text on p34.
2. Finish workbook pages 29 and 30.
3. Write a report about your classmate’s future.
