Language Goals
1 Vocabulary:
bow, kiss, shake, smile, British, German, Japanese, Russian, visitor, Russia, nod heads, hug, each, India, together, Maori, touch noses.
2 Sentences:
(1) In Russia, people usually kiss three times, left, right, left.
(2)That’s because people do different things in different countries.
(3) What do people in…do when they meet?
(4) No, I didn’t know that!
Ability Goals
(1) Enable to know and use the words of nationalities and countries.
(2) Enable to use the expressions
(3) Enable to greet people from different countries properly.

2學情分析
The students can speak a little English after a half -year study. However it's the first time for the students to learn about body language. It's a good chance to learn about the culture of greeting of different countries. And it's also an interesting but a bit difficult activity for them to act as a foreigner.

4.1.1教學活動
活動1【導入】Step 1 Greeting
Greet with body language, like shaking hands, hugging …
設計意圖:師生互動,通過肢體語言集中學生的注意力和參與學習活動的熱情,為下一步“引入”做好鋪墊。
活動2【導入】Step 2 Lead in
1 Show some words and ask Ss to express them with their body language.
2 Brainstorm
設計意圖:師生互動,此時的主要教學目標在于進行合理的導入,通過活動,讓學生更直觀的感知肢體語;通過頭腦風暴,激發學生的學習興趣;通過師生之間的對話促進學生從已有認知向新的認知遷移,學習語言知識,感悟語言功能,為學生順利進入下一個環節做好鋪墊。
活動3【導入】Step 3 listen and answer
1 Show some pictures of part 2 and talk about the nationalities.
2 Play the tapes and check the answers
設計意圖:主動探究,學生有目的、有針對性的找出聽力中的信息,培養學生的聽力技巧,提高學生的聽力能力。
活動4【導入】Step 4 Listen and say
1. Show Ss the flags of different countries,teach the names.
2 Play the tapes.
3. Ask Ss to guess: What do people in … usually do when they meet ?
設計意圖:在個環節里,增加設計了一個聽力練習,這是上一個環節的延伸和拓展,學生學會更多的國家名稱。引導學生猜測并探究在這些國家里,人們通常是怎么樣打招呼的,有什么樣的肢體語言,引起學生對文章內容的興趣,為下一步的深入了解做準備。
活動5【導入】Step 5 Read
1 Ask Ss to Read and finish the exercise.
2 Check the answers
設計意圖:學生更細致的閱讀整篇對話,理解文本,來檢測之前的一些預測。通過練習培養學生探究問題和自主解決問題的能力,通過回答落實本科的句型。為下一步的交際做好準備。
活動6【導入】Step 6 Role play
1 Act as a foreigner , greet one of the Ss with body language and talk about the ways of greeting
2 Ask one of the Ss to act like a foreigner,greet the teacher , with body language.
3. Ss play the roles.
設計意圖:師生互動,通過教師的示范調節課堂氣氛,激發學生的表演欲望,生生互動,通過角色扮演,激發學生學習興趣和創作熱情,促進語言的運用,張揚學生的個性,達到運用語言交際的目的,讓學生在實踐中體驗成功。
活動7【導入】Step 7 Homework
Level A: Remember the different ways of greeting. Use the body languages we learnt to greet visitors.
Level B: Surf the Internet to find more body languages from other countries and make a poster.
設計意圖:分層作業,自主實踐,體驗成功,通過不同層次要求的作業,從說到做的遷移,讓學生進一步鞏固所學內容,了解到更多關于不同國家的人民互相問候的形式,了解不同國家的身體語言和文化,從中體會英語學習的樂趣。
